Sublime
I keep my memories
deep within
hidden
in the vast corridors of my mind
and there are times that these memories
come creeping from my long gone yesterdays
into my today ...
like monsters from the past
like fire-breathing dragons
that I thought I had tamed and quieted
they stab at my heart and soul
and leave my spirit
bleeding grief and sorrow ...
but, among the painful memories
there are also many others I keep
like days of sweet rapture and divine love
and days of laughter
and memories of bliss
sublime
