Subconscious Nature

layers of sunsets
embrace my heart
the spirit never forgets
emotional works of art
                   slowly fading light
                   ever so softly glows
                   beckoning night
                   casting shadows on tomorrows
multitudes of sunrises
scorching my mind
memories of prizes
I never thought I'd find
                   slowly growing light
                   learning how to shine
                   granting clear sight
                   a gift truly divine
all I'm left with is today
and the promise of tonight
dark and light's seductive sway
a raging passionate fight
