Stupidity

Neither said a word
Stupidity
I found myself nearly compromised with one
Stupidity
Having just confessed myself to the other
Stupidity
Neither said a word

Oh Gods what have I done!
So close once had I stood to the locked
Door
To turn and nearly walk through
Another
Oh sweet stupidity
I have gambled and lost all portal
Neither said a word
Not the one I want
Not the one I nearly got
Stupidity
Maybe too they do not remember
Stupidity
Neither said a word

Did I find
The object of my true affection
And offer him my love?
Stupidity
Alas no
But I left no doubt
He knows the truth now
Neither said a word
And now I have not the heart
Stupidity
To ask my love again
Never again Will I say a word
