Stupid Girl

You stupid girl
With your heart going down your arm
With the key to your heart around your neck
Letting it easily be taken off
Letting anyone into your heart

You stupid girl
Letting love be your guide
Putting your mind on hold
Only following your heart
Not listening to your head

You stupid girl
Letting him fix your heart
Then watching him break it just as fast
Crying your eyes out over him
Making the same mistake again

But now the stupid girl has learned
she put her heart in her chest
And took the Key and put it in her pocket
Shes putting her mind first
And stopped following her heart

You smart girl
You've finally learned
Keep your heart open
But is going to let love find its own way

Wow, Megan. I feel like you ripped this right from my soul! I guess many of us feel "stupid" when love lets us down. Perhaps we should not have expectations but, as you say, "let love find its own way." Magical verse! Happy Valentine's Day - Carolyn

nice poem, but i dont think you should completely stop following your heart and only lisen to your mind because sometimes you may think too much and miss out on something great. i think the key thing to do is to lisen to your heart and your head, let your heart guide you but let your mind be your helper guide. :) good luck, keep writing.....Livyyy
