Stunted By Technology

Stunted by technology
The brain begins to shrink,
Decisions taken for us
No need then to think.

Laptops, ipads, iphones
Negate intelligence,
Yet show me a computer
Blessed with common sense.

What then original thought,
That diamond in the dark.
That flash of inspiration,
Where a human left their mark.

It seems there's no escaping it
I tried to be alone,
As I sat upon a mountain top
Above me, buzzed a drone.

You are so right in this poem. We humans are handicapping ourselves with too much convenience and what happens when technology fails us? It's not comforting at all. Well penned.

We certainly cannot get away from the overpowering effects of modern technology, Gary! Unfortunately our minds are losing much of their 'independence'! Congratulations on your fine win. Regards // paul

YES, the brain shrinks each time we introduce new technology that negates the need to think. Love the ending as you're pondering life from the top of a mountain only to see a drone hovering above. Quite the irony! Congratulations on your win in Brian's contest! Best wishes, Carolyn
