Stronger

She says I'm stronger Thinking herself weak Yet she survived cancer And me, I just got beat She says she looks up to me "Why" is still one big mystery In her many attempts to stay alive Never once lost hope When I think of her Still get knots in my throat You'd think there'd be no debate Who has suffered the most She has loved life and me Just hanging by the ropes She takes pity on me For I have no sense of pride Makes it hard To look her in the eyes While she stood up to fight I cowardly bent While she prayed to survive The Life Roulette I'd continue to spin... She calls me brave She says I'm stronger She fought and beat death, but me Just another life squandered

Beautiful poem. Madelin. The comparison of one with instant strenth to fight on, to a person who has to find her strength is deeply expressed. Great indication of honesty. Enjoyable overall. Check out some of my poems, might find some you like. Peace.

To be stronger you have to believe stronger. We here write things that should we believe should give you Faith. Sometimes we find poems that match exactly our fate. We hear form the survivors who often give us strength.we take from them the will. There words are wisely spent. Take care. John

There seems to be rejection of ones own live in this poem, as if you have accomplished nothing. These are moments that most of us feel at one time or another, yet, you have poetically set your feelings to the radiance of this living poem. Bravo, Poet!

Enjoyed your poem and the contrasting point of views. It's interesting how we see others and vice-versa...to be human.
