Strong

With dry lips I can't kiss the sky
Though I can feel the rain
As it seeps into my soul
I walked a divergent path
I never once saw the sun
But you understand
You understand

Eyes handcuffed by emotion
It was so very strong
I could feel it on my naked skin
So strong

I could dance through memories
Would it be a waltz or a funeral march?
But even so I never saw the sun
But I can feel the echo in my heart
But you understand
You understand

I rock an empty cradle
Where our passion once burned
You told me it would be beautiful
But why, why can't it be now?

A key to unlock your eyes
It was very strong
The tears shed on my shoulder
So strong

...But you understand
You understand
