Striving To Find Home

I have often read and seen the goodness of humanity The nurses, the doctors, the firefighters the EMTs The good politicians, the police, the writers, the vets, All striving to keep us alive — helping us reset Yet there has always been a nightmarish dream Amongst this positive life’s evolving stream Existence of the worse of mankinds’ barbaric fiends Cruel and greedy murderous and needy Still with a sigh there are others like I Struggling each day while trying to be kind A daily fight sifting through our minds Finding dark coal, sometimes living gold Sometimes warmth but often grayness and cold Then arises a vivid blue sky up above the white ocean foam Striving admist life struggles fighting to find home

We must cleave to the warmth which will help with the “grayness and cold.” Lovely reminder.
