Strive

Drizzle (Strive)

I strive through adversity
Struggle through the battle of streotypes and race
Pride and Prejudice the two things i hate
Searching for the love simply found in the warmth of a familiar embrace

Now at the fork in the road both paths i decide to take
I sacrifice it all on the altar for it all to take shape
Im a real man not by your standards but by the ones i chose
I'm not oppressed by the man but there is still one
man that i chose to follow
His name is Christ and he continues to build my life

Life aint a game so theres a reset
Yet people try to play me like a game of chess
Never been a pawn i started out a knight the Queens best
The Essence of me locked with in my chest

Still i fight the demons the that lie deep inside
Truth held deep within my eyes so i see the devil and kno he's a lie
My body my temple place were crohns made a home
The greatest disguise of all my pain hidden behind my face
But till death i will strive to make sure i survive
So in the words of Maya Angelo STILL I RISE
Legend is my destination and rising to the occation is
what my soul controls
