Striking Out Against the Moon
I want to see your eyes
I want to know what it's like to hold your hands
I want to see the wrinkles around your eyes
I want to kiss your temples
I want to know what it's like to run my hands through your hair
I want you to lay your head on my shoulder
I want you to lay your head in my lap
I want to gently stroke your hair and give you peace
I know your heart is troubled and I want to give your heart a slowing, gentle peace
I want to hear your laughter and I want you to hear mine
I want us to be given 30 years of joy and play
Getting to know each other silly and gently and fondly
closely
a bed sheets kind of love.
Where are you?
I want us to have all the time in the world just to get to know each other
Hi, I already know that I love you
I know you wear boxers and I know how you laugh
I know you're never on time and you only pay your bills when you feel like it
I know that I love you, which is most unfortunate since I don't think I may ever get to really know you
You should know
I think I already really love you
If only I could ever be given a chance
You think you are dying
I think we should just change that
I want a lifetime with you
" If wishes were horses, beggars would ride"
We are neither horses nor beggars and I think we should ride
