Strength and Freedom

Years of infliction from others unhealed childhood pain
allowing them to drive me depressed, broken, and insane
sorry those days has come to an end
standing strong from my power held within

Unknowingly I gave away my energy to others
parents, family, friends, strangers, and lovers
sorry those times has come to an end
standing strong from my power held within

My energy is to heal and evolve my inner child
rejected and neglected, but still I chose to smile
sorry that pain has come to an end
standing strong from my power held within

Staying true to my self with faith and hope
helped me learn a healthier way to cope
healing from the burdens of narcissist pain and lies
my soul yearn to heal, grow, and rise

The moment has come to flap these wide, beautiful, and strong wings
optimistic about a life that healing and forgiveness brings
sorry that sorrow has come to an end
now standing strong in my power that was always within.

Great use of repetition to add to the emotional effect. Having come from an abusive background, I can relate to coming to terms with trauma. Blessings Richard.
