Strength

Head up
She gazes through blue eyes
Face wet with tears
Her heart breaking
Hands shaking
She makes a choice
Of confidence
Not in herself
Not in another
But confidence in the goodness of God

Head up
She breaths deeply
Letting go of the past with each exhale
Heart still shattered
Hands still shaking
She makes a choice
Of forgiveness
Even her enemies are God’s beloved

Head up
You’ve never seen this before
She rises
And rises more
This is what she’s been waiting for
Heart still sore
Hands still shaking
She makes a choice
The only one left to make

Head up
Strength is what you’re looking at
Blue eyes red with tears
Breathing ragged
Never a steady hand
Still she moves forward
One painful step at a time
Lean in, and listen to her whisper...

I AM confident in the GOODNESS of my Father, and I. Do. Not. Give. Up.
