Streets of Solitude
Along the streets of solitude
I stroll alone but not lonely
As musings in my mind are brewed
On the roads I tread down slowly.
Along the streets of solitude
I weave threads of thoughts as my friends
And I vision the multitude
As souls of one race -- as human.
Along the streets of solitude
I loiter to gaze at milkweeds
Fully in bloom with fortitude
And spreading on the ground their seeds.
Along the streets of solitude
I wander to hear sparrows` songs
And offer to them gratitude
For their free music all day long.
Along the streets of solitude
I saunter to relish whispers
Of leaves of trees on altitude
As dews on grasses do glister.
Along the streets of solitude
I ramble to inhale fresh air
And my morning stroll to conclude
With aim of nature`s bliss to share.
Along the streets of solitude
I connect with my inner self
To survey in full plenitude
The inner light within myself.
Along the streets of solitude
I long to spill the sands of time
In the wombs of deep quietude
When my knell of the bell does chime.
