Streetlights

The daylight hours start to fade and die Darkness creeps upon us like a stalking black cat Streetlights flank both sides of the road Looming large like massive matches waiting to be ignited Special sensors activate, striking them into life Dim at first then building to illuminate our way Gradually the lustrous shimmer intensifies Glowing giant angels with gleaming halos Sodium bulbs emitting a golden aura Shining in the dark with a comforting light Beaming brilliance on our world making it bright Meandering into the distance like a yellow corn snake Guiding us on our way along our streets and roads Jan Allison 2nd October 2014 Contest: Find The Puzzle T A R N D A I Sponsor: Nette Onclaud ~awarded 5th place~

Hi, Jan. I love the way you compared street lights with the halos of glowing giant angels. This is a beautiful tribute to God's glowing light that leads us on our way when times are dark. You, my friend have given me a wonderful vision..... Robert.

I do have a long list of favs Jan. I think it is important to riddle the top 100 lists with a variety of poets. I fav for many reasons. Poems with few comments yet there is a simple magic I will fav to perhaps pick up a poets day. Great poems like this one. They are little gifts we can hand out. So easy to do. I know how to read my list to recognize my absolute favorites when I want to visit them for another read.

The amount of favs has the largest if not the only effect on that list. I learn quickly in these matters.

yes the top 100 is rather 4 musky tears heavy lol - i have no idea how they are rated if it is on number of comments/rating/ favourites but I try and comment on as wide a variety of people as possible:-) hugs Jan xx
