So sad. I feel greatly annoyed when fruits about to ripe are eaten away by birds and squirrels ! Beautiful haiku.

Valsa, It is aggravating for sure especially when the squirrels get the apples before they even are edible and eat one bite out of it then leave it on the ground. You would think they would learn that the apples are not good until they get ripe. LOL.. Your visits are always an added bonus. Sara

So true! I have that problem also. Mockingbird is the culprit. Best to you, Sara. ~Eric

Eric, My husband caught a brown thrasher eating them so he has put netting over them so he can get them and not the birds. I would think that any kind of bird would enjoy them if they saw them and tried them. Thanks for dropping by. Sara

Harry, Well, my husband planted these strawberry plants for us to eat but as they ripened something was eating the ripe or semi-ripe strawberries. He finally caught the brown thrasher doing the deed. He has ordered some netting to go over them so maybe we can get a few. Your visits to my page are encouraging. Sara

Jack, I am sure that they were loved by all of those insects and birds which enjoy some of the same things we do. I am sure you ate your share as well. Your visits add some flavor to my page. Sara

Love this haiku as it appeals to the senses. The last 5 syllable is quite unique

Thanks for the visit. Yes. those strawberries are delicious to eat and beautiful to look at, but we did not plant them for the Brown Thrasher bird family. Your visit was encouraging. Sara

Thrasher must be what we Brits call a thrush Sara. Once more your work remains in tune with nature - and all the better for it. Cheers - Gary

Gary, The brown thrasher is a species just in north America. So the species is not in the UK. Thanks for the nice review. I appreciate the visit. Sara
