Stranger In Us
We used to hear and value words
we used to share and value giving
we used to think and value things
around us
we used to feel and value loving
we used to work and value service.
What then is become of us?
What is this eerie monster in our camp
we used to live and value life
we used to play together as peers
we used to dance and value rythm
what is this that hunted our joy away?
Who is this monster in our home
who is this beast that lives inside of us.
We are our woes
we are the beast that's hunting us
we are part of the sordid tales that
holds our lips
we are the darkness fighting our light
until we've changed our ways
until we've changed our dogmatic
attiudes everyday is our eerie note.
