Stranger

I fell in love with this guy
Who seemed perfect to me
He was quiet and sweet
Cute and funny
But he went away for a while
And the guy I fell in love with didn’t return
A stranger had come in his place
Oddly enough they had the same face
He used my guy’s name
But they couldn’t be the same
This new man was cruel and rotten to the core
I tried my best to find something to adore
I loved this man and he did me wrong
I fought so hard to remain strong
I acted as though nothing had changed
But I couldn’t fight the fact that he was strange
I didn’t want to do it but I had to let him go
He wasn’t the man I fell in love with
I don’t know where he went
In his place a stranger was sent
