Stranger

When I close my eyes I see you The man who I fell in love with The man who fell in love with me The man who use to plant kisses all over my face The man who would call just to hear my voice ten times a day The man who couldn’t sleep unless he spoke to me The man who couldn’t hug me enough The man who enjoyed my smile Relished in my company Who loved to hear me laugh The man who always made time for me The man who once seemed so proud to have me The man who always held me while we slept The man who only wanted to make me happy Wanted to keep me safe The man who would wipe my tears And curse the person who made them fall The man who would miss me even before I left The man who would ask me about my day The man whose mind I ran through multiple times within one day The man whose love I felt whenever our eyes met The man who would fight for me with whomever, whenever The man who needed me as much as I needed him The man who made love to my body The man who appreciated the little things I did for him The man who couldn’t imagine his life without me But somehow this man I love so much is lost to me Because when I open my eyes this man disappears Leaving only a stranger standing there A man who is never around A man who makes my tears fall Makes my heart hurt A man who just uses my body A man who appreciates nothing A man who is already living his life without me A man that is so busy I am lucky to run across his mind once A man that doesn’t love me Not even a little bit Not even at all
