Third Place
Inspired by the song Strange World
By Iron Maiden, 1980
in my dream I am lost
wondering if I have crossed
the moon shines on shrouds
in a sky swirling with clouds
I am beautiful in this eerie place
my mind is tranquil and full of grace
the cemetery is now dawn
blown clouds welcome a mauve yawn
I am weeping for love past
I am searching each tomb
as black birds fill this place with gloom
who is that following . . . a vampire man
if not a dream I would have ran
a church seems to beckon to me
oh, is he in there . . . is my desperate plea
I enter and whisper can you hear me dear
my painted red lips tremble with fear
I am weeping
for a love gone, grieving
now I am leaving . . .
with eyes as blue
as a sky azure blue . . .
