Strange Morning

another true tale

this morn, suddenly,
for reasons I'll never comprehend,
my cd player started of
its own accord, playing Requiem

I can but only hope
it's not an omen,
of things to come my way,
it really is very strange,
that I have to say

so I'm just a little apprehensive
about what will soon unfold,
I've been on this earth a long time,
I am, you see, 57 years old,
It somehow makes me wary,
maybe even a little scary,
so what I have to say,
is I hope to make it through the day
