Strange Be the Comparison

Of her and Thee,
Strange be the Comparison!
The Mid-Summer’s Shine,
And the old-autumn’s!
That Pine in the peak,
And that by the forest’s feet!
The Romans were, or the Greeks,
And these aimless mechanicals?
The admirers of emotions and nature,
And the poor followers of reason!
Or the lines of Williams or the Johns,
And these?
