Stranded Without You

Stranded in the moonlight
In the middle of the pouring rain
You left my side so peacefully
As I tried to call your name

Getting wetter by the second
And colder by the minute
You left the past behind you
While I was standing in it

You never took one glance back
And never said good-bye
You just turned and walked away
As tears fell from my eyes

You said you could not trust me
Nor could you believe
That every word I told you
Was another part of me

You walked away for the last time
And my world shattered apart
For I knew that you have forgotten me
Though you lived within my heart

Now the night is growing darker
And the pain will never fade
As I am stranded in the moonlight
In the middle of the pouring rain.
