   here and there
a miraculous escape
a capture   unexpected
a wound that   festers
a love   walks away
an accident   maims
a soul   starves
   so such we be...
‘a-flyin’ an' ‘a-cryin’ 

an' all the while
the dead dance
   circling
   negotiating your value
gossiping   chanting
   should you be there
   where   you be?
or here...   
   come to be   
   where   we be?
