Storms of the Heart

I walked through the clouds and rain..
This storm don't take away the pain..
Wind gusts that pull me off the ground..
Damaging words that have a clear sound..
Where do we go for shelter in the middle of street..
The water is rising , I can't breathe on my feet..
Another forecast that's not sounding nice..
I made my bed now the problems are the price..
Twirling winds that say goodbye, no more time left to cry..
The sky is my table of disarray, where I have no choice but to stay..

I can imagine how would it feel to be in this kind of situation. Check on my 'Rain' poem, kinda similar to this feeling. You wrote from the deep feeling and translated it into words. Nicely penned, Michael.

Definitely two ways to view this poem, Michael. On the surface, I keep thinking of those who have suffered from Hurricane Irene, but I know this goes deeper, straight from your heart. Many of us have endured these "damaging words" and the consequences they bring. Let's pray for brighter forecasts in the future. Love, Carolyn

This one has such a deeper meaning to it Michael, somehow the storms of our heart take us to places we never expected and yet we still weather the storm.. A joy to read you before I go to bed. love Wilma

I'm sure there is a double meaning here. I am glad the winds are slowing. Thank you for your nice coments. Joyce
