Stories In the Wood
Cracked and gnarled
I carry the history of
Earth in my body.
Like others, each crevice
contains a secret,
each curve and whorl,
contains a novel;
my burl is the soul
bearing the weight of
this burden.
As I gather my stories,
growing, learning,
I store them for sharing.
Look at me and read
with your spirit.
