Stopping of Telling People That I Write

Stopping of telling people that I write

I stop telling people
I write
And i am a poet

One of my classmates
Just yesterday suspected
If i could write
And those poems
On the wall were mine

On my face
A colleague once said
She did not like poetry
All poets are out of head

An uncle does not see me
Eye to eye
Since the time i told him
I started writing again
Perhaps he just can’t tolerate
A poet from his neighbourhood

Listening upon the news
From my wife
My father in law said
If I have gone off my head

I asked a distant aunty
To read some of mine
She said
She did not have time
Though she sits upon the roof
And whole day gazes
The face of a passer by

A rumour is spread
Of my being betrayed
Or being hurt
By my childhood friend

Nephews and nieces jock
It is highly possible
Once more i am in love

Yet my students are seemed
To think that
A genius like me
Should keep up my muse

So I keep writing
No more i tell anyone
That I write
And I am a poet
