Stoplight Fireflies

Stoplight Fireflies Stoplight fireflies blink yellow over vacant intersections Owls whisper on the mist mime-like field mice listen Soft surf muffles side step clatter of crab legs Feral eyes swallow waning moonlight A possum waddles beneath blinking yellow fireflies. ©John G. Lawless 4/3/2017

I saw the title and just had to see this one. I LOVE the imagery and imagining this sleepy old town. Wish I lived by a beach with soft surf! A FAVE

yeah Tim, there is a lot of "night life" we really don't want to know about in the city.

A nice nature scene created in your poetic words. I really liked the title and the thought associated with it. The entire piece is great.
