Stop the Pointing

When it took John or Bob 
or Steve or Rich;
there was never any problem
not so much as a hitch,
but as it started taking 
the Marys and Cindys 
and the like of which;
some eyes started opening 
some even ed,
but the word really spread
throughout the world, 
as it started taking
little boys and girls
such as;
the baby Jane’s and the baby Joe’s
the baby Mary’s and the baby Bo’s,
and let’s not forget the baby May’s 
nor the baby Ray’s;
AIDS affects everyone 
not just the Gays,
so as we sit in our ivory tower 
so pure,
Instead of pointing a finger
we should search for a
cure

I have always felt, whatever people's differences, when terrible diseases like AIDS come about, what people need, is to be comforted, and helped, and loved, and YES! We should search for a cure. There is a book, called 'Emerging Viruses'. I can't say more in this venue
