Stop Our Violence

Somewhere we've made a mistake teaching children right from wrong the poor choices that we make whilst making our children strong We all have good intentions from the moment that we start but kids face some distractions hiding what's deep within their hearts The sex, drugs, and rock and roll have turned to thoughts of violence we need to have a new goal and teach them some tolerance Some factors that we should blame movies, media, and us all of which should feel some shame but we don't that's not a plus What in God's name will it take before we will understand our precious lives are at stake the outcome cannot be planned We must stop kids from killing I don't know who even how but we ALL must be willing to do this and do it now! Written almost twenty years ago, after an area school shooting. Does it still hold any weight?

Spoken loud and clear with a pen...I certainly think it holds weight; even more so today... If we don't find a way... Well... God help us.

Yes, Keith, it certainly holds weight. On one hand, things are rough now. On the other, it's almost always the case that older generations look upon the younger with dismay.

As the experience of being a current highschool student in this generation, this piece of work hold lots of truth to it, sadly. Well done.
