Stone-Heart!

I used to believe in a future
in a fantasy-dream where hope began.
I soon abandoned my hope of love
leaving this shell of a man.

A depression is dominating my thoughts
as love's flame is slowly snuffed out.
Like a pearl I'm part of your collection,
a string of captive hearts you brag about.

Everyone is confused by my attitude,
for I always swore I'd leave it alone.
Like the facade of wordly idols,
under the smiles lies a heart of stone!
