Stone Cold Stare

the ravens have gathered
to pick up the pieces
left by the wolf

A soul left in shreds
by a stone cold stare
and a heartless goodbye

another victim fooled
by a sly smile
and warm loving words

he was gone
before she realized
she was bleeding

Beware of wolves in sheep's clothing for they are everywhere. Hope you're well Timothy. Tom

Thanks Lindsay, you are right, I've read you can forgive and forget before you can trust again.

Hey, thanks for including me in the third line of the first stanza! Seriously, very evocative, resonant images here, Mr. Poet. Thank you, Gershon
