Stolen

Stolen

You stole my heart,
You pulled it hard,
You ripped it from my chest,
It's in your hands and you squeeze it tight,
I start to lose my breath,
You put it back and it barely beats,
It's dying in this air,
It starts to crumble and burns to ash,
I am no longer there,
My ashes fall around your feet,
Like autumn falling leaves,
One gust of wind and I'll be gone,
Maybe this was meant to be.

The last line is perfect, for it does not make me feel sad or angry, just resigned and okay with it. "was meant to be". Nicely done. Welcome to Poetry Soup Sean.
