Stillness
Alone I sit under a summer evening sky.
I can hear the birds and bees, see the light fading over fields, valleys and feel the stillness of life.
I watch the cats playing hide and seek, hear two buzzards call. See the majestic beauty of crimson light moving over a red brick wall.
Feel the coolness of the air as the evening settles in. Transfixed I am by the fading light. A cool blue settles in to what was the heat of life.
Now lights flicker in the view as the horizon dims to the Sun’s fading light. I feel a serenity in my garden as I see day turn to night.
