The Whiskey Taster’s Flavor Guide

Still working on my PhD at the age of forty-three

Still working on my PhD. at the age of forty-three
though as a teaching assistant, all my schooling’s free

The problem is my thesis, I change it every year
for approval from my advisor, it must rhyme with his fav’rite beer

Would last year’s subject tickle your tibia?
          “One-cell diets of 18th-century fireflies
that migrated to the north of Namibia”

But this year has me spellbound, the thesis is so perverse
It focuses on presidents – from Monica fellating Clinton
to what Lincoln did in his hearse

So, you are hereby invited to view my forthcoming dissertation
~ snicker and smirk at Oval Office ruination

                                                 ~ NoBenny Fitu Sosighety

Lol, Gershon, this is hysterical! My son has decided he will not pursue his doctorate, I'm sad, but, I get it. I was reading comments below and yikes, over sixty, that's really hanging in there!

Can you imagine yourself in left-wing academia, Sara? God's grace that you did not finish your PhD.

I can see the diploma hanging from a string, evaded by the student.

I actually knew a grad student at the U. of Illinois who stayed down in Champaign, IL 'til he was over 60!! In the summers he was a beer vendor at Wrigley Field.... On top of which, he had a law degree in his early 30's. Can you imagine?! Tex's Allkinds
