Still Virtual

I’ll agree to a virtual visit With the people I can’t see for real. The hugs and the closeness are missing But it does have a certain appeal. I’ll accept taking virtual classes. There’s a lot the instructor can teach. Though with projects that need supervision, There are some that the teacher won’t reach. Yet a virtual trip is a no-no. I won’t pay to watch someone on screen Walk through Harlem or Prague or the Catskills And describe sights I wish I had seen. How I miss all I once did in person! The travel, the meetings with friends, All the courses, museums and theater I’ll resume if this mess ever ends.

It's why I'm postponing my last trip to Paris until Macron does something about Covid, if ever. / Maurice

I am thrilled to say Kansas City schools are physically in session. We are glad of that! Virtual is horrible!

I don't know, ilene. Isn't it time to put a little of this caution aside and get back to life... I travel, go out to eat, go to classes where no one wears a mask, and have friends over all the time. Been doing it for 9 months now. Not even a sniffle to show for it. ~ Guts and Glory, gw

I can't reach your level of technology, but I do enjoy watching Sarah Brightman, Nana Mouskouri, et al on film because all the errors and background noise are filtered out. As for touring on film, you can enjoy the trip sans mosquitoes, flies, yellow jackets, really annoying passengers, etc. Finally, you will know what you do NOT want to waste your time and money on when you do have an opportunity to be there in person! So stay healthy and happy!

On a sunny afternoon in Paris, would you rather spend two hours at Père Lachaise, or at Marché aux Puces de Saint-Ouen? Imagine how much faster you can find Chopin on the internet than walking among the graves!

Thinking about it makes me feel claustrophobic. I agree with all you’ve said and you said it all while rhyming. :)

I feel your pain Ilene, I've forgotten what it's like to fly, hopefully this year will see the back of omricon, delta or whatever it calls itself these days. Tom
