Still Scared

STILL SCARED When I was a child I was afraid Scared of the dark Of all things unseen Scare of heights of platforms up high Scared of water Places that you can drown Scared of people Strange and unfamiliar Scared of ghosts Hidden under the bed Now an adult Am big and grown Thought of my fears Would now be gone But still... Am afraid. Scared of the dark A future so unclear Scared of heights Falling from my castles Scared of water Life’s overwhelming floods Scared of people Hearts so very evil Scared of ghosts The skeletons in my closet.
