The Whiskey Taster’s Flavor Guide

Still Riding You

I learned to ride without holding on,
but I still couldn’t let you go,
roads kept changing under my feet,
but your name stayed in every road I know.

Miles between what was and what won’t be,
still feels like you’re somehow here with me,

I’m still riding through the years,
with your shadow in my gears,
every turn just brings me back to you,
I moved on, at least it seems,
but you’re still stitched into my dreams,
like a road I never really made it through.

From school days to these empty streets,
I carried you past every sign,
hands off the past, eyes on the road,
but my heart never crossed that line.

Time moved fast, but I stayed the same,
still losing you in a different way,

I’m still riding through the years,
with your shadow in my gears,
every turn just brings me back to you,
I moved on, at least it seems,
but you’re still stitched into my dreams,
like a road I never really made it through.

No map for a love like this,
no end, no goodbye,
just circles I keep tracing
under the same old sky.

I’m still riding through time,
with your memory on my mind,
never mine, but never gone,
and maybe that’s the truth I choose,
some roads you don’t lose,
you just keep riding alone.
