Still I Rise
I liked it like that.
Going around with my head held down,
My eyes to the ground,
Hoping nobody sees me.
If the spotlight's on me,
I tend to get nervous.
My body transforms in order to help me focus.
Thinking up things to pass the time,
Harvesting my visions,
Just to ease my mind.
I rise!
My aim is to reach the top,
The bottom is not someplace I intend to stay a lot.
I'll run, walk, crawl, slither
Because with each agonizing step my life is supposed to get better.
These aspirations will manifest in precious time,
Cause if they don't,
I’m bound to lose my mind!
