Still Black Today
I am totally black today
Still black and dark,
Really dark and black.
I'm black like never
I'm darker than ever
I'm black by nature
I'm proud of being black
By the choice of my heart.
So black and dark,
I no longer need black.
So bright is my future
That you are to me a failure
When you think me mediocre
Just for my skin colour.
From the blackness of honour
I take a tour yonder.
My guiding angel wander afar;
Away from the black today
Into the golden red sun
That illuminates my skin black
And shines on my heart
I'm not sorry for being one.
I have the heart of a winner
For I am black today
A drunk fighter
A dark fighter
A black winner.
I am still black
Really black
Today.
