Still Alive

Contest Name: When my life changed
Sponsor: Kai Michael Neumann
Date: August 17, 2025

Winds of change arrived at my door without a single hint of rain
He asked me if I wanted to move to Toronto and I said a quick yes
Every road leads to Rome when your desperate for escape
No one knew the ache I held in my heart at twenty years of age

My little baby was only one, I craved to get away from family drama
You never know what you get when you finally open Pandora's box !

Life abroad was different then I expected. I soon got homesick and
I missed my family, regardless of how dis-functional it was. I sadly
Fumbled for I felt like a giant hand suddenly erased all my past.
Every path I took was a path of denial, soon I began to crumble.

Close to my 33rd birthday my thirteen year old was depressed so I got
Help and through counseling, I realized how much I had been holding in.
Approval of others I no longer needed, I learned to pave my own path.
Nightingales sing best at night, in my silver years I finally healed.
God is good for he have me a kind man who stood by me through it all
Eagles soar highest when they are free to fly, I'm now at peace.
Dulcet moments on the heart arrived and I'm glad for I am still Alive !

Well fought...and the results are poetically marvelous. The making of a poet. You are very brave, and honest. No better qualities. Blessings my friend.

I think brave and honest only comes with the luxury of getting old and finally being able to say what you mean lol I'm grateful for every single experience in my life Joe they made me who I am today :)
