Steps

Foot steps came down the hallway, I opened my eyes to see My Grandma's small soft image, As over me she leaned. I'm here to tell you something, She whispered in my ear, I wanted so much to hug her, But she wouldn't let me near. She looked so young and pretty In a glamorous big hat White pearls around her neck, Enhanced her dress of black. She said "I'm here to tell you I'm feeling well, and strong She blew a kiss across the room, And in a moment she was gone. This encounter will never leave me, In my mind it will always stay The night she came to see me Was the day she passed away. Lynn Barany
