Step Lightly

If I could, I would remove your woes;
for all you endured for me.
Keep them safe; never forgetting.
Share with all; all who would listen.
I need to remember; they need to know.
All the sacrifices you made; now I am here today.
Only because of you, I stand on this ground.
The same ground you walked; I walk proudly.
Now, you rest as dust under my feet;
step lightly, remembering.
