Step By Step
There is a place, reserved for you and me,
put your best foot forward, if you wanna see.
Walk each day in the moment, as you go,
compassion, forgiveness and peace we must show.
We must have something, that the world does need,
we can’t give out, what others truly feed.
We can take a man to dinner, still can’t make him eat.
give a man a table, a place to put his feet.
Those words we give, are a seed unto the heart,
fill them with joy and love, peace, they will take part.
The world needs more understanding, forgiveness everywhere,
to do good things, is our cross to bare.
One by one, two by two, step by step you see,
there is a place, reserved, for you and me.
