Steel-Eyed Horizon

STEEL-EYED HORIZON Watercolor paper So drab Steel-eyed horizon Why are the clouds still gray? Winter never begins Winter never ends Leaves long to cling Onto bare branches Robins bespeak contentment Sowing songs of faithful season Of daffodil days Unfurled skies of blue Lush Bermuda grass Gray scampers off – A scurry of squirrels A thin smile of Spring Kim Rodrigues © 2017
