Steam Dreams

If you boil water - you get steam.
Boil my life - you get a dream.

So it is, when I look up
from an empty cup,

at a softly winding curl,
I think I see a girl.

Your depths are showing, to you, to us, they've probably wanted out a long time. Seems the universe led you to Soup to show you. This is sweetly tender, felt words might break if touched. AWESOME. Wanna share that on 2nd line 'boil' took my mind to 'you get a scream', I might say, 'I' get rather than 'you' or a diff rhyme for steam, up to you. You're kicking me arse in wins, what do I know. My absences & lack of interest in many contests doesn't change facts: an arse kicking is an arse kicked.

I will probably retitle it again one day to "Vapor" which is what I titled my two-line entry in Brian's contest. That's just the first two lines of this poem. It's late, but I think I'll go back and really try to understand what I'm saying, and think about what you're saying about what I'm saying, but not tonight. Did I say it's late, not really but it is for me. I'm tired. Am I rambling? Anyway, I enter all the contests almost and lose most of them. I'm sure if you entered them all, you'd be kicking my arse, but I suppose you have what is called a life, which intervenes.

Thanks so much for your appreciation, CayCay. I can see where scream might pop into mind. Having one's life boiled seems more likely to cause screaming. It's funny, I struggled briefly with Is and Yous very briefly when I wrote it, and then my attention flitted away, because I couldn't instantly solve it, and didn't really quite know what I was saying, so I just left it. I retitled it, because I didn't like my last title.
