Steady Love
In winter's coldest blast or summer's heat
Contentment reigns with you here by my side.
My heart behaves with strong and steady beat.
Small pains and woes, I easily abide.
If by some chance my love should be denied
And you're unwilling to stand here with me,
How worthless then all future life would be.
Forgive me love, if unto you I cling
And seek your promise you will always stay.
For like a lonely bird with broken wing
Perhaps I wouldn't last a single day.
Don't treat my heart as it were throwaway.
Love comes but once for some of us, it's true.
A lifetime's worth of love I bear for you.
