Steadfast Love
Though others tried to spark a fire,
You hold the eternal flame;
Though others scorned my heart's desire,
Your acceptance took my shame.
Though others changed from day to day,
You remain the same;
Though others rallied for undue praise,
Your honor brings me fame.
Though others played my heart and soul,
You steal... win the game;
Though others tried to put me in holds,
Me, only your heart can tame.
Though others wouldn't belong to me,
You even wanted my name;
Though others condemned me within,
Your response took my blame.
Though others neglected my words in action,
You, my attention became;
Though others placed me beneath themselves,
Your stedfast love overcame.
