STAYING ALIVE III

reluctant to sleep
your days going by so fast
obituaries?
many friends have seen their last
oh    god    those mortuaries!

must watch one’s diet
if it tastes good    don’t try it
bland to the taste
sweet things are seldom healthy
 each day you measure your waist

obesity fear
daily on television
“our very worst year”
diet a hard decision
choice    to live a few more years

Last time I saw this one was three years ago. and it is still as relevant as it was then., I am down to 160 now, Daver. WHOO HOO!!!

Scary one about dieting. haha. Yep. it gets scarier and scarier with each passing year!! But I like the positive message you ended up with for this one, my friend.

It is exciting to see the replenishment of new poetry here everyday when I log on. I enjoy the diverse poetry so I am never bored by most of what I read. I measure my waist by how tight my pants are or are not..... usually they are much too tight. If they are not, I'm probably wearing somebody else's pants or got the wrong (right ) size at the thrift store. Im afraid I like those sweets much too much Daver. Workin on it. Like you said, comes down to a choice. gotta make it! your poetry friend- Bob hey I had no idea you were such an accomplished author. That's great. Glad to know that . I'd feel great if I just got one out there!God bless

When my father got up around 95, he said about the same thing..He said if it tasted good it was either bad for you or a sin..He enjoyed his food up to his death..Great topic that you have chosen..Will you eat healthier this year?..Sara
