Stay the Course

No deeply rooted history, nor implied ordered liberty, abortion, gutted like a trout, dismembered, lies there, bleeding out. Hyperbole is through the roof, a million times more fun than truth, and so all things report as true; they’re coming for gay marriage, too. The court is not deciding fates; that can is kicked back to the states. Now each will rank on published lists: abortive destination trips. Chasm widens on the issue: right to life or useless tissue. More than ever, we decide to separate and to divide. Pro-life Christians must up their game, not being pro-life just in name. This is a war, if one will dare, ‘gainst darker forces in the air. Though victory, hard-fought, was won, this, a mere skirmish, not that one. Though joined to us in life and pain, till His return, work still remains. With hope, we see a foretaste grand of life preserved throughout the land. He is our motivating force, so we press on, we stay the course.

Oh, pshaw! Kamala Harris just clarified the decision for us today. Did you see what she said?! OMG! She makes Sarah Palin look like Einstein. Check it out. You'll flip. ~ gw

Two Americas~ no use for filibuster, won't have the votes. American privileged women treat abortion blithely. I'm not for abortion, I'm for prevention and women's rights. Millions of unwanted babies, with no one to care for them, 15 years later crime will go up. History shows this. Good Rhyme!

Thanks for reading and for your comments. The blithe disregard bothers me the most. A world where both abortion and unwanted children are rare seems like a pipe dream, but I can sing my own version of Imagine too... :-)

Your fervency is well-noted and your belief respected, Jeff, but I just cannot agree with you on this one. I know a same sex couple (male professionals) who adopted a little girl and are doing a fine job of raising her. So, what are they to do if the USSC dissolves their marriage? Will CPS come and take away their daughter? I wonder?

My "they're coming for gay marriage too" line was how I perceive the left/media portraying the decision, stirring up their base. Good fund-raising sound byte, but not bourn out in the upcoming docket, anyway...

Thomas' concurring opinion, p.3 states, 'The Court’s abortion cases are unique, and no party has asked us to decide “whether our entire Fourteenth Amendment jurisprudence must be preserved or revised. Thus, I agree that nothing in [the Court’s] opinion should be understood to cast doubt on precedents that do not concern abortion.” However, he feels the underlying substantive due process precedents undergirding cases such as Griswold, Lawrence, and Obergefell, need to be revisited. So I cannot say where that goes... Kavanaugh did not seem to agree, so I doubt the votes are there.
