Stay
Stay
What if suddenly,
You stopped hearing the familiar sounds
that dismantle you every day?
What if suddenly,
you stopped hearing the same old things
that the same people always used to say?
Would you would miss it?
What if suddenly,
You didn't wake up
to the sunshine every morning?
What if suddenly,
There were no traffic lights or STOP sign warnings?
Would you miss them?
What if suddenly,
The stores closed?
Would you miss them?
What if suddenly,
Poverty arose?
Would you wish things were the same?
Would you would find something,
anything to blame?
What if suddenly,
You were out of time?
Would you want it back?
What if suddenly,
There were no more mountains to climb?
Would you want the chance to climb them all?
What if your privacy was stolen?
Would you beg back for your once
deserted walls?
What if suddenly,
there was no more music?
Would you sit in silence and watch the clock tick?
What if suddenly,
The lights went out?
Would you be praying for a candle stick?
What if suddenly,
The unexplained converted virility into reality?
What would you do then?
Would you pretend life was still life or would you accept what was as no longer
what is until this was what does?
Would you accept that today is today and tomorrow will always be tomorrow?
Would you embrace the joy you hid deep within yourself and tolerate the endless physical
pain and sorrow?
Would you follow a better way?
Would you please stay?
